Inspired by the timeless works of Dr. Seuss, the animated feature reimagines the mischievous character for a new generation, with Emmy Award winner Bill Hader lending his voice to the famously irreverent feline.
A fresh take on a classic character
Described as an all-new adventure packed with mischief, magic and mayhem, The Cat in the Hat introduces audiences to a version of the character they haven’t seen before.
The film follows the Cat as he embarks on what could be his most important assignment yet.
Tasked by the I.I.I.I. – the Institute for the Institution of Imagination and Inspiration, LLC – the Cat must help siblings Gabby and Sebastian navigate the challenges of moving to a new town.
However, the larger-than-life troublemaker has a habit of taking things a little too far, and this latest mission could determine whether he gets to keep his iconic hat.
An all-star voice cast
Joining Bill Hader in the voice cast are Xochitl Gomez, Matt Berry, Quinta Brunson and Paula Pell.
The film also features performances from Tiago Martinez, Giancarlo Esposito, America Ferrera, Bowen Yang and Tituss Burgess.
Warner Bros. Animation’s next chapter
Directed by Alessandro Carloni and Erica Rivinoja, The Cat in the Hat marks Warner Bros. Pictures Animation’s first full-length feature film.
The adaptation aims to honour the whimsical spirit of Dr. Seuss while introducing the character to audiences through a visually ambitious and contemporary animated adventure.
First published in 1957, The Cat in the Hat remains one of the most recognisable children’s books ever written, delighting generations of readers with its playful storytelling and unforgettable central character.
Now, nearly seven decades later, the Cat is preparing to cause chaos on cinema screens once again.
