Spicks and Specks on ABC returns with Amy Shark, Missy Higgins and more – Hands on buzzers — Spicks and Specks is back.
ABC has confirmed a brand-new season of the beloved music quiz show will premiere on Wednesday, 8 July at 8.35pm on ABC TV and ABC iview, reuniting the much-loved trio of Adam Hills, Myf Warhurst and Alan Brough.
Part music trivia, part comedy showcase and all-round celebration of Australian music, the series returns with a fresh batch of games, surprises and unforgettable performances.
The gang’s all here
Adam Hills, Myf Warhurst and Alan Brough once again take centre stage, tackling everything from bizarre musical challenges to delightfully ridiculous questions.
Among the topics set to be explored this season are whether hospital equipment can be used to create music, what Nessun Dorma might sound like if it were dedicated to a butt-scooting dog, and exactly what Ed Sheeran got up to in Japan with Justin Bieber.
If the show’s history is anything to go by, viewers can expect the answers to be every bit as entertaining as the questions.
A stellar line-up of guests
This season boasts an impressive roster of Australian music royalty and comedy favourites.
Joining the panel throughout the series are Amy Shark, Ruel, Rhonda Burchmore, Casey Donovan, Dami Im, Chris Cheney, Kate Miller-Heidke, Katie Noonan and Caleb Harper, with more special guests to be announced.
Adding to the chaos are comedians Zoë Coombs Marr, Tommy Little, Denise Scott, Noah Szto and Frank Woodley.
Celebrating Australian music
As always, each episode will conclude with a live performance, showcasing some of the country’s most respected artists.
The new season features appearances from Missy Higgins, Regurgitator, Keli Holiday, Wendy Matthews, Robert Forster, Ruby Fields, Playlunch and Miss Kaninna.
The performances continue Spicks and Specks’ long tradition of spotlighting Australian talent while introducing audiences to both established acts and emerging voices.
