Other Mommy trailer reveals Jessica Chastain horror film – Universal Pictures has released the official trailer for Other Mommy, a new horror film starring Academy Award winner Jessica Chastain.
Other Mommy opens only in Australian cinemas on Thursday, 8 October 2026.
The trailer is built for horror fans. It brings together producer James Wan, Blumhouse Atomic Monster and director Rob Savage. It also adapts Josh Malerman’s bestselling novel Incidents Around the House.

What is Other Mommy about?
The film follows Bela, a young girl who forms a bond with a sinister entity in her home.
At first, the presence looks like her own mother. However, the threat grows as the family tries to understand what is inside the house.
Chastain plays two roles. She stars as Bela’s mother and as Other Mommy, the manifestation of the entity.
Jay Duplass plays Bela’s father, Daddo. Arabella Olivia Clark plays Bela.
Who is in the cast?
The supporting cast includes Dichen Lachman, Arian Moayed and Karen Allen.
Rob Savage directs the film. His previous work includes Host and The Boogeyman.
In addition, the screenplay is by Nathan Elston. James Wan produces, while Michael Clear, Judson Scott, Savage, Malerman and Ryan Lewis executive produce.
