The new season will premiere on Wednesday, 12 August on Apple TV. Episodes will then roll out weekly through 30 September.
For Australian Apple TV subscribers, the return of Women in Blue adds another international crime drama to the service’s weekly release slate. The series also gives Apple TV a returning Spanish-language title built around a female-led police story.
Season Two Story
Season two follows Maria, played by Barbara Mori, after she is promoted to lieutenant. She is pulled between the rules she has sworn to uphold and her pursuit of the truth.
The case begins when the body of a student activist is discovered. The investigation then reaches back to the student massacre of 1968.
Before the Azules can understand what they have found, another body connected to that chapter of history is unearthed. Someone is delivering justice to the police department’s door, and the Azules become the department’s last hope of stopping the killer.
As Maria, Valentina, Gabina and Angeles fight battles inside and outside the precinct, they are forced to face a difficult question. In a system plagued by corruption, what is the cost of fighting for their ideals?
