Slow Horses season six trailer released by Apple TV – Apple TV has released the trailer for season six of Slow Horses, with Academy Award winner Sir Gary Oldman returning as Jackson Lamb.
The six-episode season premieres globally on Wednesday, 16 September on Apple TV. New episodes will then arrive weekly until Wednesday, 21 October.
For Australian viewers, Slow Horses remains one of Apple TV’s strongest returning dramas. The new trailer also gives fans their first proper look at the next round of trouble for Slough House.
Slough House is back
Slow Horses follows British intelligence agents who have been pushed into Slough House. It is the MI5 department for spies who have made career-ending mistakes.
Oldman leads the series as Jackson Lamb. He is sharp, rude and almost impossible to manage. However, he still knows how to read the dangerous world around him.
In season six, the Slow Horses are on the run. Diana Taverner pulls them into a high-stakes game of retaliation and revenge.
The season draws from Joe Country and Slough House. They are the sixth and seventh books in Mick Herron’s award-winning Slough House series.
Olivia Cooke returns as Sid Baker
Apple TV has also confirmed the return of Olivia Cooke as Sidonie “Sid” Baker. Her comeback gives the new season another major hook for long-time viewers.
The returning cast includes Kristin Scott Thomas, Jack Lowden, Saskia Reeves and Christopher Chung. Aimee-Ffion Edwards, Rosalind Eleazar, Joanna Scanlan and Samuel West also return.
Ruth Bradley, Tom Brooke, Jonathan Pryce and Hugo Weaving are also part of the ensemble. In addition, BAFTA Award winner Lenny Rush joins the cast for season six.
A major Apple TV drama
Slow Horses has become one of Apple TV’s signature dramas. Across five seasons, the series has built a strong following and steady critical support.
The fifth season earned nine Primetime Emmy Award nominations. Those nominations included Outstanding Drama Series. Oldman and Lowden also received acting nominations.
See-Saw Films produces the series for Apple TV. Jamie Laurenson, Hakan Kousetta, Julian Stevens, Iain Canning and Emile Sherman are executive producers.
Adam Randall, Gail Mutrux, Douglas Urbanski and Oldman also executive produce. Meanwhile, Gaby Chiappe adapts season six for television, with Randall returning to direct.
The first five seasons of Slow Horses are streaming now on Apple TV.
