Kayo Sports and Foxtel Remain Home to NRL and NRLW into the Next Decade – Kayo Sports and Foxtel have extended their long-running partnership with the NRL, securing rugby league coverage into the next decade.
The new agreement keeps Kayo Sports and Foxtel as home to the NRL and NRLW until 2034.
Under the deal, fans will continue to have access to every home and away game across both competitions. They will also be able to watch every finals game, except the Grand Final.
The new partnership begins from the 2028 season.
More live games and expanded coverage
The renewed broadcast deal will deliver more live rugby league across Kayo Sports and Foxtel.
As the NRL expands, the number of exclusive live NRL matches will increase. When the 20th team enters the competition, Kayo Sports and Foxtel will carry seven of 10 games exclusively.
The agreement also includes exclusive NRLW matches. In addition, fans can expect an expanded Super Saturday offering, with more exclusive live NRL matches across the home and away season.
Kayo Sports and Foxtel will also deliver more matches in 4K. Meanwhile, further broadcast innovation will aim to bring fans closer to the game.
The deal also extends rugby league’s global reach. Through DAZN, NRL matches will reach 200 markets around the world.
Foxtel says fans are the winners
Foxtel Group CEO Patrick Delany said the renewed agreement was a major outcome for fans, subscribers and the game.
“This renewed NRL partnership is a great outcome for the game, fans and our subscribers.”
Delany said Foxtel had partnered with rugby league for 30 years. He also said the business remained committed to growing the game at all levels.
“We have been partners in the growth of rugby league for 30 years.”
He said Kayo subscribers were also helping support the sport beyond the elite level, with broadcast investment flowing back into grassroots football.
Delany thanked Peter V’landys and Andrew Abdo for their trust, vision and commitment to ongoing innovation.
NRL leaders welcome landmark deal
ARLC Chairman Peter V’landys AM described the agreement as a defining moment for rugby league.
He said the deal gives the sport a stronger platform for growth across Australia and internationally. He also said it would return the draw back to the NRL and support fairer scheduling for clubs.
“This agreement is the largest commercial deal ever secured by an Australian sport.”
NRL Chief Executive Officer Andrew Abdo said the agreement reflected the strength of rugby league and confidence in the game’s future.
He said the deal gives the game certainty, flexibility and resources. As a result, the NRL can pursue new growth opportunities across every level of the sport.
Abdo also highlighted the importance of community football.
“More investment than ever will go into grassroots and community football.”
Kayo Sports strengthens major sports line-up
With the NRL secured long term, Kayo Sports and Foxtel will continue to carry a major Australian sports line-up.
The platforms already feature AFL, cricket, Supercars and Formula 1. They also offer more than 50 live sports, alongside U.S. sport through ESPN, including the NFL, NBA and NHL.
Delany said the next focus would be on ensuring Kayo Sports continues to lead with an innovative approach to live sport broadcasts.
The agreement further strengthens Kayo Sports’ position as one of Australia’s major sports destinations.
Kayo Sports and Foxtel will remain home to the NRL and NRLW until 2034.
