Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games – Seven’s live, free and exclusive coverage of the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games has reached 10.5 million Australians across the first week of competition.
The result underlines why the Games have become one of Seven’s major sport pillars this year, combining nightly free-to-air coverage with a much broader 7plus Sport offer built around live channels, pop-up events and replay streams.
From the Opening Ceremony on 24 July through to Thursday night’s competition, Seven says Glasgow 2026 has delivered an average prime time national total TV audience of 828,000. Across all day parts, the Games have averaged 374,000 total TV viewers.
Seven Leads Across The First Week
Seven says it has been the number one network in total people, 25 to 54s, 16 to 39s and grocery shoppers every day of the Games. The network has also taken top spot in total TV, broadcast and BVOD between 6.00am and midnight, and between 6.00pm and midnight, across the past week.
On 7plus Sport, Glasgow 2026 has generated an average audience of 62,000 over the first seven days, up 528% on the Birmingham Games in 2022.
The 7plus Sport pop-up channels have also delivered strong numbers. Seven says the Australia v England netball pop-up on 26 July drew 185,000 viewers, while the Australia v Tonga netball pop-up on 25 July drew 92,000 viewers.
Biggest Sessions So Far
The biggest session so far was the evening of 26 July, which reached 2.56 million people and drew a national total TV audience of 954,000. The night of 29 July reached 2.39 million people and delivered 1.14 million total TV viewers.
With three epic nights of prime-time competition remaining, our Australian athletes have produced another extraordinary Commonwealth Games campaign, and the best is yet to come.
