Glasgow delivers gold for Seven as Commonwealth Games reaches 7.8 million – Seven says its live, free and exclusive coverage of the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games reached 7.8 million Australians in the first three days.
The figure covers Seven and 7plus Sport from the Opening Ceremony on Friday, 24 July through Sunday, 26 July.
For Seven, the early result gives the network a strong start to one of its major winter sport events. It also shows the value of combining prime-time broadcast coverage with a much larger 7plus Sport streaming offer.
Seven’s First Three Days
Seven says Glasgow 2026 has delivered an average prime-time national total TV audience of 808,000 across its first three days.
Across all day parts, the Games have averaged 355,000 viewers in total TV.
Seven was also the number one network in total people, 25 to 54s, 16 to 39s and grocery shoppers on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
The network says it led total TV, broadcast and BVOD between 6.00am and midnight. It also led between 6.00pm and midnight.
7plus Sport Growth
Seven says Glasgow 2026 has also made a strong start on 7plus Sport.
The streaming service recorded an average audience of 57,000 across the first three days, up 493% on 2022.
The biggest session so far was Sunday night’s evening coverage. It reached 2.56 million Australians and recorded a national total TV audience of 964,000.

Seven’s Head of Commonwealth Games, Anna Stone, said the coverage had already delivered major moments for viewers.

Stone pointed to Sam Williamson’s gold medal in the 100m breaststroke, Hani Watson’s bronze medal and the Diamonds’ win over England as early highlights.
She said the Games schedule still had major Australian medal events to come, including the start of the athletics program.
Sponsors And Streaming
Seven’s Director of Sales, Television and Streaming, Katie Finney, said the Games were drawing national audiences together after only three days.

How Seven Is Covering Glasgow 2026
Seven is broadcasting Glasgow 2026 in prime time from 7.00pm each night. Live coverage then continues through to 7.30am across the 10-day event.
The network is also supporting the Games through Sunrise, 7NEWS, 7NEWS.com.au and The Nightly.
On 7plus Sport, Seven says viewers can access 15 live channels and eight FAST replay channels. The replay channels cover swimming, athletics, track cycling, artistic gymnastics, power and combat sports, team sports, bowls and a Glasgow Glory highlights channel.
Glasgow 2026 coverage is also available through SCA’s Triple M and Hit Networks. Triple M is simulcasting Seven’s live broadcast from 10.00pm to 5.00am, with breakfast updates across Triple M and Hit.
