Thursday Ratings – Seven’s cricket coverage is #1 non news in primetime in both overnights and Total TV

TOTAL TV – Total People

Seven News was #1 with 1,098 000, a rise of 2%. Seven News at 6:30 was #2 with 1,095 000, an upswing of 3%. Seven’s Cricket: First Test – Australia v West Indies Day 2 Session 3 was #8 with 627 000. Seven’s cricket coverage is not available on BVOD through 7pus as the network does not have those rights included so there is no uplift on overnight results. Seven’s Cricket: First Test – Australia v West Indies Day 2 Session 2 was #12 with 496 000 viewers. Sunrise was #15 with 384 000, a lift of 5%. Seven’s Cricket: First Test – Australia v West Indies Day 2 Session 1 was #21 with 331 000. Seven’s Cricket: First Test – Australia v West Indies Day 2 Lunch was #22 with 325 000. Seven’s Cricket: First Test – Australia v West Indies Day 2 Tea was #26 with 290 000. Seven’s Cricket: First Test – Australia v West Indies Day 2 Session 3 Multi Channel was #30 with 242 000.

Nine News was #3 with 1,010 000, an increase of 4%. Nine News 6:30 was #4 with 997 000, a boost of 4%. A Current Affair was #6 and sat just behind ACA in the slot with 794 000, growth of 5%. Paramedics was #9 with 582 000, strengthening its overnights by 11%.. RBT was #10 with 568 000, bolstering its audience by 6%. Hot Seat was #13 with 483 000, an upsurge of 4%. Love Island Australia was #16 for the entire day with 381 000, improving its 9GO numbers by a whopping 525%. Nine’s Afternoon News was #17 with 379 000, expanding its audience by 3%. Hot Seat – 5pm was #19 with 355 000, an enhancement of 3%. Police After Dark was #23 with 324 000, an uplift of 7%. Today was #25 with 294 000, up 8%.

10 News First was #20 with 333 000, a rise of 2%. The Project 7pm was #24 with 311 000, an upswing of 5%. The Bold and the Beautiful was #27 with 286 000, a lift of 3%. Jamie Oliver: Cooking for Less was #29 with 245 000, an increase of 12%.

ABC News was #5 overall but #1 in its slot with 803 000, a boost of 4%. 730 was #7 with 753 000, growth of 6%. A repeat of You Can’t Ask That was #14 with 413 000, strengthening its overnights by 6%. Q+A aired its season final and was #18 with 375 000, bolstering its audience by 9%.

SBS had the 2022 FIFA World Cup and was #11 with Australia v Denmark at 560 000 fans, an upsurge of 45%. The match between Poland and Argentina was #28 with 284 000, an improvement of 68%.

TOTAL TV – 25-54

The 2022 FIFA World Cup match between Australia and Denmark was #1 for SBS with 280 000 viewers, expanding its audience by 59%. Love Island Australia was #6 in this demographic with 211 000, enhancing its viewership by 521%.

Analysis

Nine News 6:30 was #1 with wins in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. Nine News was #3 with wins again in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. A Current Affair was #6, but #2 in the slot behind ABC News with 488 000 viewers. Great Getaways was #13 with 260 000. Paramedics was #14 with 254 000. Police After Dark was strong in this slot with 153 000. Nine News Late was on 128 000. Emergency Call aired late night to 67 000.

Seven News at 6:30 was #2 with wins in Adelaide and Perth. Seven News was #4 with wins again in Adelaide and Perth. Seven’s Cricket: Second Test – Australia v West Indies Day 1 Session 3 had 447 000 viewers. Seven’s Cricket: Second Test – Australia v West Indies Day 1 Session 2 was on 365 000. Seven’s Cricket: Second Test – Australia v West Indies Day 1 Dinner was 308 000. Seven’s Cricket: Second Test – Australia v West Indies Day 1 Tea was 277 000. Seven’s Cricket: Second Test – Australia v West Indies Day 1 Session 1 was 234 000.

The Project 6:30pm was on 166 000 but The Project 7pm grew to 230 000. Jamie’s One Pan Wonders had 215 000 viewers. A repeat of Law & Order: SVU was on 116 000 and then a second repeat at 9:30pm had 97 000.

ABC News was #5 but #1 in its slot. 730 was at #9 with 345 000. A repeat of You Can’t Ask That was watched by 194 000. The ABC special ‘Still We Rise’ had an audience of 136 000.
