Alone Australia Season 4 reunion special announced by SBS – SBS has announced Alone Australia Season 4: The Reunion, with the one-hour special to stream on SBS On Demand on Wednesday, 9 September after the season finale.
The reunion special will premiere at 8.30pm on SBS On Demand, following the final episode of the Arctic Circle season. It will also encore on SBS on Thursday, 10 September at 7.30pm.
For SBS, the special gives its biggest original factual franchise another event moment after a season that has pushed the format into harsher territory. For viewers, it promises answers from the cast after weeks of watching them survive in isolation, cold and darkness.
What to expect from The Reunion
Hosted by Insight presenter Kumi Taguchi, the special brings the participants together for the first time since they were dropped into the Arctic Circle.
The reunion will include never-before-seen footage from more than 6,000 hours captured during the season. SBS says viewers can expect fresh moments from the wilderness, deeper looks at shelter-building, bushcraft and innovation, and reflections on the physical and mental toll of the experience.
The cast featured in the special includes Misty, Jasper, Sia, Dougy, Arash, Lillian, Alyce, Trent, Clint and Dylan.
Season 4 ratings
SBS says Alone Australia Season 4 has reached a Total TV audience of 2.91 million, with a Total TV average audience of 652,000.
According to the network, 44% of the audience has watched via SBS On Demand.
The figures are based on OzTAM VOZ National Data for total people, covering viewing from 15 July to 19 August 2026.
SBS and ITV Studios on the reunion
SBS Head of Unscripted Joseph Maxwell said the Arctic season had taken the broadcaster’s most successful original series to new extremes, with the reunion set to go behind the scenes and add new insight from the cast.
ITV Studios Australia’s Chief Content Officer Beth Hart said the special would show the participants back in the real world as they reflect on an experience that tested them physically, mentally and emotionally.
