Seven News and Home and Away were star performers but the network was let down by a Red Faces repeat.

A consistent night for Nine led to a winning performance.

ABC had mixed results as some slots continued with summer repeats and others were new content.

TOTAL TV – 25-54

Home and Away was #1 with 310 000, a rise of 50%. Home and Away – Late was #2 with 304 000, an upswing of 54%. Taskmaster Australia was #3 with 271 000, a lift of 25%.

Seven

Seven News was #1 with wins in Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth. Seven News at 6:30 was #2 with wins in Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth. Home and Away was #8 with 456 000 viewers, an average of the 7pm and 7:30pm episodes. Home and Away – Late was #11 with 402 000 for the 8pm episode. A repeat of The Very Best of the Best and Worst of Red Faces was #19 with just 249 000 viewers. A repeat of Mrs. Brown’s Boys had a viewership of 156 000. The Latest: Seven News had 81 000. An encore of The Front Bar: All Stars Edition had a low 32 000.

Nine

Nine News was #4 with a win in Sydney. Nine News 6:30 was #3 with wins in Sydney and Brisbane. A Current Affair (ACA) was #5, but #1 in its slot with 591 000. RBT was the #1 non news program in primetime with 460 000. A repeat of Paramedics was #12 with 382 000. A repeat of Australia Behind Bars had 203 000. Nine News Late was watched by 121 000. The season final of Emergency Call had 73 000. The NBC burn off continued with Council of Dads on 30 000.

The Project 6:30 was on 159 000. The Project 7pm was #20 with 248 000. Taskmaster Australia was #14 with 314 000 viewers. The Montreal Comedy Festival: Ronny Chieng and Friends had 132 000 viewers. An encore of Would I Lie to You had 76 000. A new episode of Law & Order was relegated to the 10:30 slot and had just 73 000. There should be sizeable Total TV lifts for the show next week. 10 has decided to move SVU to Wednesdays at 8:40pm from next week, where it should get an uninterrupted run.

ABC

ABC News was #6 for the night and #2 in its slot. 730 was #10 with 422 000. Foreign Correspondent returned for 2023 and was #13 with 337 000, which immediately lifted the slot from last week’s repeat of You Can’t Ask That (226 000). Grand Designs: House of the Year also went up, last night, #17 with 291 000, versus 247 000 last week. A repeat of Joanna Lumley’s Great Cities of the World had 201 000.

7two was #1 last night thanks to Father Brown at #16 with 77 000 and Murdoch Mysteries #17 with 75 000.

9GO! was equal second off the back of the movie Knight and Day doing well at #13 with 81 000.

ABC Kids / ABC TV Plus was equal second thanks to kids programming in the early part of the evening and then QI later.
