OVERNIGHT RATINGS
Analysis
Seven
Seven News at 6:30 was #1 with a clean sweep in all markets. Seven News was #2 and also had wins in all markets. Home and Away returned for 2023 and was #6 overall with 519 000. It was #2 in the slot behind ABC News, but with Total TV results coming in next week, Home and Away is expected to be #1. Seven had success acquiring the Prince Harry interview with Harry: The Interview at #8 with 487 000 viewers and winning its slot. The movie, A Star is Born had 98 000 watching from 9:15 onwards.
Nine
Nine News was #3 and couldn’t win in any market. Nine News 6:30 was #4 and also had no wins across the 5 cap city markets. A Current Affair was back at 7pm and placed #7 overall, but #3 in its slot with 514 000. RBT was #14 with 315 000. Nine aired Queen: Days of Our Lives to 140 000 viewers.

All eyes were on 10 last night with the return of the weekday edition of The Project and the new season of The Bachelors. The Project 6:30 was #20 with 220 000, before rising for The Project 7pm to 327 000 viewers and placing #13 for the night. The Bachelors Australia was #15 with 309 000. The total people result may have looked average, but the show was #1 in 16-39, #3 in 18-49 and #5 in 25-54. With social media chatter mostly positive, this all adds up to a great performance – given that it is still ‘summer’ television. 10 then aired the movie, Second Act to 125 000 viewers.
ABC
ABC News was #5 overall, but #1 in its slot. 730 returned for 2023 and placed #10 with 422 000 viewers. Back Roads was #11 with 363 000. The final part of Our Dementia Choir Sings Again was #26 with 170 000.
