The Last First: Winter K2 trailer sets October premiere on Apple TV – Apple Original Films has unveiled the trailer for documentary feature The Last First: Winter K2, arriving on Apple TV on 2 October 2026.

Directed by Amir Bar-Lev, the film follows a 2021 expedition on K2 as climbers attempt the mountain’s first winter summit. The group includes Icelander John Snorri Sigurjónsson and Pakistani father-and-son climbers Ali and Sajid Sadpara.

The Last First: Winter K2

The documentary examines the peril of extreme mountain climbing and the changing culture around it. As the team confronts K2’s harsh winter conditions, they share the mountain with influencer climbers, film crews and commercial clients, while a Nepalese team pushes back against the old expectations placed on local climbers.

The result is a story of strategy, determination and survival under life-and-death circumstances. It also looks at the questions of class, caste, money and power that surround one of mountaineering’s most dangerous challenges.
