Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey releases new featurettes as tickets go on sale – Anticipation is building for Christopher Nolan’s next cinematic event, with Universal Pictures unveiling two new featurettes for The Odyssey as tickets officially go on sale ahead of its July release.
The newly released featurettes offer audiences a behind-the-scenes look at the ambitious production, highlighting both the film’s global filming locations and its musical score.
One featurette explores the vast international locations used to bring Homer’s legendary tale to life, showcasing the scale of what is being described as a mythic action epic. The second shines a spotlight on Academy Award-winning composer Ludwig Göransson, who discusses creating the soundtrack for Nolan’s latest film.

Written and directed by Christopher Nolan, The Odyssey adapts Homer’s enduring epic poem, bringing the ancient Greek adventure to cinema audiences through what Universal describes as brand-new IMAX film technology.
The film boasts an all-star cast led by Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway, Robert Pattinson and Lupita Nyong’o, alongside Zendaya and Charlize Theron.
According to Universal Pictures, the production was filmed across multiple international locations and marks the first time Homer’s foundational saga has been brought to IMAX film screens on such a scale.
The film reunites Nolan with longtime producing partner Emma Thomas through their production company Syncopy. Thomas Hayslip serves as executive producer.
Following the global success of Oppenheimer, expectations are high for Nolan’s latest project, which promises to blend mythology, action and cutting-edge filmmaking technology.
With tickets now on sale, The Odyssey is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated cinema releases of 2026.
The Odyssey opens in Australian cinemas on 16 July 2026.
