OVIE | Mortal Kombat II cast and film makers celebrate the movie with fans – Tonight the cast and filmmakers of New Line Cinema’s MORTAL KOMBAT II attended the Sydney Fan Screening at IMAX Sydney, to celebrate the latest chapter of the iconic franchise.
The film’s stars Karl Urban, Jessica McNamee, Josh Lawson, Chin Han, CJ Bloomfield, Ana Thu Nguyen and Desmond Chiam walked the red carpet alongside director/producer Simon McQuoid and producer E. Bennett Walsh.


Dedicated fans gathered for the high-energy event in the forecourt of IMAX Sydney at Darling Harbour, where a martial arts troupe performance set the scene and the Ultimate Kombat Cosplay Competition was judged, with the winner scoring tickets to head inside and be among the first in Australia to see the film.
The cast also took part in a Q&A on the red carpet before heading inside to introduce the film to the lucky fans.

Tomorrow, celebrations will continue on the Gold Coast with the Official Australian Preview at Event Cinemas, Pacific Fair. Fans are again invited to attend and experience the action from 5pm.

Karl Urban stars as Johnny Cage, alongside Adeline Rudolph, Jessica McNamee, Josh Lawson, Ludi Lin, Mehcad Brooks, Tati Gabrielle, Lewis Tan, Damon Herriman, with Chin Han, Tadanobu Asano as Lord Raiden, Joe Taslim as Bi-Han, and Hiroyuki Sanada as Hanzo Hasashi and Scorpion.
Director Simon McQuoid returns to helm the follow up to his explosive 2021 cinematic adventure, from a screenplay by Jeremy Slater, based on the videogame created by Ed Boon and John Tobias.
The film is produced by Todd Garner, E. Bennett Walsh, James Wan, Toby Emmerich and Simon McQuoid, and executive produced by Michael Clear, Judson Scott, Jeremy Slater, Ed Boon and Lawrence Kasanoff.
Joining McQuoid behind the camera are director of photography Stephen F. Windon, production designer Yohei Taneda, editor Stuart Levy and costume designer Cappi Ireland, with casting by Rich Delia and music by Benjamin Wallfisch.
MORTAL KOMBAT II will release in Australian cinemas on May 7.
