Apple TV previews Neuromancer, Dark Matter season two and Matchbox at San Diego Comic-Con – Apple TV used San Diego Comic-Con to showcase three major titles.
The panel delivered the first teaser for Neuromancer. Apple TV also released new trailers for Dark Matter season two and Matchbox The Movie.
For Australian subscribers, the slate gives Apple TV a steady genre run. Dark Matter returns in August, Matchbox The Movie arrives in October, and Neuromancer launches in January 2027.
Neuromancer Teaser
Callum Turner made a surprise virtual appearance during the Apple TV panel. He introduced the first teaser for Neuromancer, the new series based on William Gibson’s influential science fiction novel.
The 10-episode series stars Turner, Briana Middleton, Mark Strong, Joseph Lee, Peter Sarsgaard and Clemence Poesy. Apple TV will premiere the series on Friday, 22 January 2027 with two episodes.
New episodes will then arrive weekly through Friday, 19 March. The story follows Case, an elite hacker played by Turner. He joins Molly, played by Middleton, for a high-stakes heist against a corporate dynasty.
Dark Matter Season Two
Dark Matter season two premieres on Friday, 28 August on Apple TV. The season has 10 episodes, with one new episode each Friday through 30 October.
Blake Crouch created the series from his own novel. Joel Edgerton and Jennifer Connelly lead the cast and also serve as executive producers.
Alice Braga, Jimmi Simpson, Dayo Okeniyi, Oakes Fegley and Amanda Brugel return for the new season. This time, the Dessen family faces another threat after finding a world that seemed safe.
Apple TV will also expand the series with Dark Matter: The Official Podcast. Crouch and executive producer Jacquelyn Ben-Zekry host the podcast, with new episodes released alongside the season.
Matchbox The Movie
Matchbox The Movie premieres on Apple TV on Friday, 9 October. John Cena leads the cast, with Jessica Biel, Arturo Castro, Sam Richardson, Teyonah Parris and Danai Gurira also starring.
Golshifteh Farahani, Corey Stoll and Bill Camp also appear. The film takes its cue from Mattel’s Matchbox toys and follows a group of childhood friends pulled into an international mission.
Sam Hargrave directs and executive produces the film. David Coggeshall wrote the screenplay, while Skydance Media and Mattel Studios produce.
