WIN News updates presenter lineup as Steve Hart departs – Respected journalist Steve Hart will present his final WIN News bulletin on Friday, bringing his time at the regional network to a close as Georgia Elsley joins its presentation team.
The change marks a new chapter for one of Australia’s most prominent regional television news services. WIN News remains a daily local presence across multiple states and territories, making its presenter lineup particularly important to viewers outside the metropolitan capitals.
Hart joined WIN in September 2024 after working across several major Australian television networks. During his time with WIN News, he became known for his calm delivery, commitment to local stories and experience in the field.
Steve Hart signs off from WIN News
WIN Network said Hart’s final bulletin would air on Friday. The broadcaster praised his passion for journalism, his determined approach to pursuing stories and the authority he brought to the news desk.
WIN’s National Director of News, Stella Lauri, said Hart had made an enduring contribution to Australian television news.
“Steve Hart represents everything great journalism should be. His passion for chasing stories never faded, and that determination, professionalism and genuine care for the communities he served made him one of Australia’s most respected journalists.”
Lauri also thanked Hart for the experience, knowledge and leadership he shared with WIN’s newsrooms and wished him well for his next chapter.
Hart’s television career has included reporting and presenting roles with Channel 7, Network 10 and Fox Sports News. He also worked in radio before moving into television journalism. TV Central covered Hart’s appointment to WIN News in 2024, when he joined the network presentation team to helm bulletins across regional Australia.
Georgia Elsley joins the presentation team
As Hart prepares to sign off, WIN has confirmed Georgia Elsley will join the WIN News presentation team. Elsley is already familiar to viewers through her work across the network.
WIN described Elsley’s presentation style as warm and professional, highlighting her ability to connect with audiences. Lauri said her appointment reflected the network’s commitment to developing journalism talent.
“Georgia’s professionalism, warmth and calm presence have resonated strongly with viewers across the country, and we are delighted to welcome her into this new role. She represents the future of regional television news, and we know our audiences will continue to embrace her.”
Elsley said joining the presentation team was an incredible privilege. She also acknowledged the standard Hart had set during his career and said she looked forward to continuing WIN News’ focus on trusted local reporting.
WIN maintains its regional news focus
The presenter change comes as WIN continues to position local journalism as a central part of its regional television service. Its bulletins cover communities across southern New South Wales, the ACT, Queensland, Victoria, Tasmania and other regional markets.
For viewers, the handover places a newer presenter alongside an established reporting operation while preserving the network’s emphasis on local stories and community connection.
More free-to-air television coverage is available in TV Central’s Channel 9 section. Viewers can also find regional bulletins and local information through the public WIN Television website.
