TONY Sydney preview screening brings chefs and tastemakers to Event Cinemas – A24 has released photos from the TONY Sydney preview screening, held at Event Cinemas George Street on Monday, 10 August.
The event brought Australian chefs and tastemakers together ahead of the film’s ANZ cinema release on 20 August.
For Australian cinema audiences, the Sydney screening places TONY directly in the food and hospitality conversation. The film follows a young Anthony Bourdain before he became one of the world’s most recognisable food writers and television figures.

About TONY
TONY follows a 19-year-old Anthony Bourdain as he travels to Provincetown and enters the chaotic world of a restaurant kitchen. That summer helps shape the course of his life.
The film is directed by Matt Johnson and written by Johnson and Matthew Miller, Todd Bartels and Lou Howe.
