The Agenda Setters: Victor Radley opens up on Origin return ahead of Game II – New South Wales forward Victor Radley admits he never expected to be back on the State of Origin stage after missing last year’s series, but now finds himself just 80 minutes away from helping the Blues secure another title.
Speaking on The Agenda Setters: Rugby League, Radley reflected on the events of 2025 that ruled him out of Origin contention and the journey that led him back into the New South Wales camp.
“You know I didn’t think I’d be here, obviously the rule was in place, I couldn’t play Origin but I always believed I’d be back playing in the NRL and playing for the Roosters and that was kind of my focus.
“I think it was a bit of a kick up the backside that I needed and I’ve worked really hard, so yeah I’m proud that I’m here now.”
The Blues enter Origin II knowing victory would seal the 2026 series, with Radley set to play a key role in New South Wales’ bid to wrap things up in Melbourne.
Mitch Moses given the green light
Questions had surrounded the fitness of Mitch Moses in the lead-up to the clash, but Radley moved quickly to ease concerns, confirming the playmaker would take his place in the side.
“He’s definitely playing, he’s 100% in, he did the full session today, he was looking a million dollars, so I look forward to playing with him. It’ll be my first time playing with him.”
Radley also praised the inclusion of Payne Haas, describing the experienced prop as a major asset for the Blues heading into one of the biggest matches of the year.
State of Origin Game II kicks off on Wednesday night, with New South Wales looking to clinch the series against Queensland.
