Network 10 Farewells I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! After 12-Year Run – After 12 seasons, hundreds of jungle trials and countless unforgettable television moments, Network 10 is farewelling one of its most enduring reality franchises, with the broadcaster confirming I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! will rest in 2027.
A Network 10 spokesperson confirmed the decision on Friday, saying:
“We have made the decision to rest I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! in 2027 as we focus on offering our audience a range of content on all platforms.”
The network added:
“We look forward to working with Julia Morris and Robert Irwin on other projects.”
While the news marks the end of an era for Australian television, the series leaves behind a remarkable legacy as one of Network 10’s most successful entertainment formats — a show that consistently blended humour, heart, chaos and genuine human connection in a way few reality programs have managed.
Since launching in 2015, I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! became a cornerstone of 10’s entertainment slate, delivering memorable celebrity moments, outrageous jungle trials and emotional personal stories that resonated with audiences year after year. The series also carved out a unique place in Australian television by shining a spotlight on charities close to each contestant’s heart, helping raise awareness for causes far beyond the jungle campfire.
At the centre of it all has been Julia Morris, whose quick wit, unpredictability and unmistakable energy helped define the show from its very first season. Morris has hosted every season of the program and became synonymous with the franchise itself — steering the series through jungle chaos with effortless comedic timing and warmth.
Reflecting on the show’s conclusion, Morris said:
“I’m A Celebrity and our whole jungle family who make this show have made it the best working experience of my lifetime. I have loved every moment and will be forever grateful to Beverley and the whole team at Network 10 for not only believing in this show but nurturing it for 12 years. And to our jungle family watching from home, we love you.”
The show’s original hosting partnership between Morris and Dr. Chris Brown quickly became one of Australian television’s most beloved duos. Brown’s dry humour and laid-back charm perfectly complemented Morris’ larger-than-life comedic style, helping establish the show’s signature tone during its formative years.
For many viewers, the Morris and Brown era remains one of the defining entertainment pairings of the last decade, with their chemistry becoming just as important to the format as the celebrities and jungle trials themselves.
When Brown departed the series in 2022, there were understandable questions about whether the show could recreate that magic. Enter Robert Irwin, who brought a fresh energy and natural charisma to the role while building a genuinely fun and heartfelt on-screen partnership with Morris.
Across the past three seasons, Irwin proved himself a natural fit for live entertainment television, balancing humour, empathy and enthusiasm in a way that connected strongly with audiences.
“I want to express what an absolute privilege it has been to work on this show for the past three seasons,”
– Irwin said.
“I grew up watching this show as so many Aussies do, so to be part of the fantastic team that make this series a reality felt like a dream come true. We have had the honour of sharing incredible stories and create a platform to shine a light on amazing charities that our celebrities have supported along the way. And to do it all alongside my co-host, and friend, Julia Morris made it a truly life-changing experience that I will remember for the rest of my life.”
Irwin and Morris quickly developed a warm, playful chemistry that gave the show a successful new chapter and demonstrated the franchise’s ability to evolve while still maintaining the spirit audiences loved.
Over its 12-season run, I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! delivered no shortage of unforgettable television moments — from chaotic Tucker Trials and emotional eliminations to celebrity confessions that became instant water-cooler conversation. More importantly, the series consistently embraced self-awareness and fun, never taking itself too seriously while still allowing genuine emotional moments to shine through.
The decision to rest the format comes as Network 10 continues to evolve its content strategy across broadcast and streaming platforms, with the broadcaster noting that schedules are reviewed regularly
“to strike the right balance between new and returning titles, keeping our lineup fresh and distinctive for our audience.”
Importantly, the network’s statement leaves the door open for both Morris and Irwin to remain part of 10’s future plans — something many viewers will undoubtedly welcome. Morris remains one of the network’s defining entertainment personalities, while Irwin has rapidly become one of Australia’s most versatile young television talents.
As the jungle campfire dims for the final time, I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! leaves Australian television not as a format that overstayed its welcome, but as a genuinely beloved franchise that managed to entertain audiences for more than a decade while creating lasting television partnerships and unforgettable moments along the way.
