The Bikeriders – Austin Butler returned Down Under to kick off the promotional tour yesterday with a photo call by Sydney Harbour.
Austin was joined by local riders wearing the emblem of the Vandals, the motorcycle club depicted in the movie, directed by Jeff Nichols.
Last night, fans and guests braved the rain to see Austin at the Australian Premiere of The Bikeriders, escorted to The State Theatre by a convoy of motorcyles riding in formation who revved their engines along Market Street.
The sold-out red-carpet Special Presentation was a highlight of the 71st Sydney Film Festival. The film will be released in cinemas nationally on July 4th.
Austin will continue on the promotional tour for the movie, with the next stop London.
ABOUT THE BIKERIDERS
The Bikeriders captures a rebellious time in America when the culture and people were changing. After a chance encounter at a local bar, strong-willed Kathy (Jodie Comer) is inextricably drawn to Benny (Austin Butler), the newest member of Midwestern motorcycle club, the Vandals led by the enigmatic Johnny (Tom Hardy).
Much like the country around it, the club begins to evolve, transforming from a gathering place for local outsiders into a dangerous underworld of violence, forcing Benny to choose between Kathy and his loyalty to the club.
