Practical Magic 2 Gets First Trailer As Sandra Bullock And Nicole Kidman Return To The Owens Family — Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman are heading back to the world of witchcraft and family secrets, with Warner Bros. Pictures unveiling the first trailer for Practical Magic 2, set to arrive in Australian cinemas on 10 September 2026.
Nearly three decades after the original film became a cult favourite, Practical Magic 2 reunites audiences with the Owens sisters for another magical adventure steeped in ancestral curses, moonlit mischief and family bonds.
The sequel sees Sally and Gillian Owens confronting a dark curse that threatens to tear their family apart once and for all, promising a cinematic event filled with magic, fun and mayhem.
Joining Bullock and Kidman in the new film is an impressive ensemble cast featuring Joey King, Lee Pace, Maisie Williams, Xolo Maridueña and Solly McLeod, alongside returning stars Dianne Wiest and Stockard Channing.

Acclaimed filmmaker Susanne Bier directs the sequel from a screenplay by Akiva Goldsman, Georgia Pritchett and Kelly Marcel. The film is based on Alice Hoffman’s novel The Book of Magic and is produced by Denise Di Novi, Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman.
Behind the camera, Bier has assembled an experienced creative team including cinematographer Simon Duggan, production designer Tom Burton, editor Sam Williams and composer Rupert Gregson-Williams.
The original Practical Magic developed a devoted following after its 1998 release, with its themes of sisterhood, family and female empowerment helping turn it into a beloved fantasy classic. Expectations are high for the sequel, which looks set to bring a new generation into the magical world of the Owens family.
Practical Magic 2 opens exclusively in Australian cinemas on Thursday, 10 September 2026.
