Live coverage of Budget 2026 on Sky News – With the cost-of-living pressures top of mind, Sky News Australia’s expert team will deliver live coverage and in-depth analysis as Treasurer Jim Chalmers presents the Albanese Government’s fifth Federal Budget.
The Treasurer will outline the Government’s economic strategy in Parliament, as households across the country continue to contend with rising costs for essentials such as housing, energy and groceries.
Coverage begins on Sunday May 10, with a special live event hosted by Ross Greenwood, who will put the big questions to politicians and economists ahead of what is shaping up to be one of the most challenging Federal Budgets in recent years.
Joining him, Danica De Giorgio will engage directly with the studio audience which includes small business owners, bringing their stories and questions into the national conversation.
On Tuesday May 12, the evening’s coverage of Budget 2026 begins at 5:00pm with The Kenny Report where Chris Kenny will foreshadow the key issues and their potential budget and policy implications.
From 6:00pm, Peta Credlin will host a special 90-minute Budget edition of Credlin delivering sharp analysis and insight ahead of the Treasurer’s address.

On Thursday at 7:30pm, Opposition Leader Angus Taylor will deliver the Coalition’s Budget 2026: Reply outlining an alternative vision for Australia’s fiscal future and outline the policies he believes will shape the country’s economic path moving forward.
