News24 to Launch in July as Sky News Australia Enters New Era – Sky News Australia will officially become News24 from Monday, 27 July 2026.

The move marks a major rebrand for the network, which has operated under the Sky News Australia name for three decades.

From 27 July, the network’s broadcast channels, streaming products and digital platforms will transition to the News24 brand.

The company says News24 reflects its evolution from a traditional linear Australian television channel into a multi-platform news business with a growing international audience.

A New Era for the Network

The rebrand will see the launch of a new website and app, new branded channels and expanded international coverage.

News24 programming will remain available across existing broadcast and streaming platforms.

That includes subscription television, regional free-to-air television, FAST channels on connected TVs, podcasts, Facebook, YouTube and DAB+ radio in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.

Sky News Australia Chief Executive Officer Paul Whittaker said the launch marked an important next chapter.

“On 27 July we step into a new era of news.

“Since we launched thirty years ago as Australia’s first 24-hour news channel, we have grown to become a trusted and central part of Australian journalism. Today’s announcements further solidify our commitment and investment in delivering premium news coverage and incisive commentary that informs on the vital issues shaping our nation and the world.

“Our inherent entrepreneurial spirit and unwavering commitment to bring our viewers the news live as it happens remains unchanged, and I look forward to launching News24 in the coming weeks, as we embark on this exciting next chapter.”

News24 Channel Line-Up

Foxtel and BINGE will remain the premium destination for Australians to access News24-produced channels.

That line-up will include News24, News24 World, News24 Weather and FOX SPORTS News.

News24 will be available on Foxtel Channel 600.

The channel will continue to feature live breaking news, analysis, opinion programming, sport and weather. It will also feature the experienced on-air team audiences already know.

News24 Weather will be available on Foxtel Channel 601.

The channel is described as Australia’s only 24/7 weather channel, with forecasts from the country’s largest team of on-air meteorologists.

News24 World will launch on Foxtel Channel 603.

The channel will offer global political news, key press conferences and live events from Australia and around the world.

News24 will also continue to produce FOX SPORTS News for the Foxtel Group.

Regional, FAST and Radio Expansion

Regional free-to-air channel News24 Regional will deliver select News24 programs to regional audiences.

It will be available on Channel 56 across dedicated markets in New South Wales, Victoria and Queensland.

The free ad-supported streaming television channel News24 Now will also feature selected programs.

He will begin in the role in November.

The London bureau will strengthen the network’s European coverage.

It will sit alongside international bureaus in Washington D.C., Taiwan and Wellington.

News24’s Australian bureaus include teams in Canberra’s Parliament House, Melbourne, Brisbane, the Gold Coast, Perth, Adelaide, Darwin and Hobart.

The network also operates from a new broadcast centre and studios at News Corp Australia headquarters in Sydney.
