Sky News / The Daily Telegraph People’s Forum Albanese vs Dutton – Tues 8 April 7:30pm AEST – With the battle lines drawn, Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and Opposition Leader Peter Dutton will face off for the first and most important debate of the 2025 Federal Election campaign, the Sky News / The Daily Telegraph People’s Forum, Tuesday 8 April at 7:30pm AEST, live from Western Sydney.

Moderated by Sky News Chief News Anchor Kieran Gilbert, Mr Albanese and Mr Dutton will answer questions from 100 undecided voters, as independently selected by Q&A Market Research, who will test the leaders on their vision for our nation, in a raw and authentic debate format.

The critical results of the People’s Forum debate as determined by the undecided voters will be revealed during Paul Murray Live at 9:00pm AEST.

Sky News Chief News Anchor Kieran Gilbert said:

“Our Sky News / The Daily Telegraph People’s Forum is the first chance of this election campaign to see the two leaders go head-to-head. This is the first debate of the campaign and as such is a high stakes moment for both Anthony Albanese and Peter Dutton.

“The beauty of the Sky News / The Daily Telegraph People’s Forum is that the power is in the hands of the people – it’s an entirely unscripted and unpredictable event for the two leaders to try and navigate.”

The Daily Telegraph Editor Ben English said:

“The People’s Forum has set the tone and often the direction of campaigns for more than a decade now. We’re very proud that The Daily Telegraph is partnering with Sky News on this pivotal debate.”

Sky News Australia’s Chief Executive Officer Paul Whittaker said:

“Together with The Daily Telegraph we are pleased to be delivering the first debate of the 2025 Federal Election campaign.

“A staple election event since 2010, the live format of the People’s Forum tests even the most seasoned politicians, delivering some of the best and most iconic election moments. The People’s Forum debate is where we see real politics kick in as undecided voters ask the leaders tough and unexpected questions on the issues they care about.”

“This debate will be crucial as the leaders battle it out in a high-pressure debate setting for the first time of the campaign as Australian voters cast a critical eye over their policies and promises.”

The People’s Forum has been staged at every Federal Election since 2010, including the most recent 2022 Federal Election where Scott Morrison and Anthony Albanese went toe-to-toe in Brisbane for the Sky News / The Courier Mail People’s Forum, the highest rated Sky News People’s Forum ever.

The Sky News / The Daily Telegraph People’s Forum will be available to stream on SkyNews.com.au or via the Sky News Australia app.

To watch the People’s Forum, and for access to four news channels and full episodes of Sky News Australia shows, the SkyNews.com.au Streaming Subscription is available on website, mobile app, and compatible Smart TVs.

The People’s Forum will also be available for The Daily Telegraph subscribers at dailytelegraph.com.au.
