Budget 2024: Live Coverage Tomorrow from 5pm AEST on Sky News Australia – Tomorrow, as Treasurer Jim Chalmers presents the Albanese Government’s third Budget, Sky News Australia will deliver live coverage through the night featuring an unrivalled line-up of political, business and finance experts.

The Budget will reveal the Albanese Labor Government’s plans and priorities for the year ahead as Australians around the country continue to tackle the burgeoning cost-of-living crisis.

Budget 2024 coverage begins with The Kenny Report’s Chris Kenny at 5.00pm, discussing the key issues set to impact the Budget outcome.

From 6:00pm, Peta Credlin will host a special 90-minute Budget edition of her popular program Credlin, where she will be joined by leading political commentators and economic experts sharing their Budget predictions.

At 7:30pm, tune in for complete coverage of Treasurer Jim Chalmers’ speech as he delivers the Albanese Government’s Budget, live from the House of Representatives.

For immediate analysis following the Treasurer’s speech, at 8:00pm join Sky News’ expert line-up including Chief News Anchor Kieran Gilbert, Political Editor Andrew Clennell, Business Editor Ross Greenwood, and Political Anchor Laura Jayes for Budget 2024 LIVE, where the breakdown the Budget’s winners and losers and inform viewers about implications for their household budgets.

Sky News Political Contributor Chris Uhlmann, Sky News Hosts Paul Murray and Andrew Bolt, plus former Labor Minister Stephen Conroy are also on hand with their analysis of the politics shaping the policies in Labor’s Budget.


From 9:00pm, Shadow Treasurer Angus Taylor joins live from the Sky News Parliament House studio in Canberra with the Coalition’s reaction to the Budget, plus Judo Bank’s Chief Economic Advisor Warren Hogan analyses what the Budget might mean for the Reserve Bank’s critical cash rate decisions in the months ahead.

For more live reaction and debate, a Senate crossbench panel featuring Independent Senators Jacqui Lambie and David Pocock, One Nation Senator Malcolm Roberts and Greens Senator and Finance Spokesperson Barbara Pocock will come together for a rare roundtable to reveal their reactions.

These crucial crossbenchers hold the make-or-break votes in the Senate, meaning their Budget support or opposition could prove pivotal.  

Then, unpacking the impact of the Budget on everyday Australians, Paul Murray hosts a special 90-minute Budget edition of Paul Murray Live from 9:30pm, before we close the evening’s analysis at 11:00pm with James Macpherson, Liz Storer and Caleb Bond and The Late Debate, with the first look at how the next day’s newspapers see the Budget.

In the following days, we’ll cover Treasurer Jim Chalmers’ 2024 Budget address at the National Press Club live from Parliament’s Great Hall at 12:30pm on Wednesday 15 May.

Then, on Thursday 16 May as Opposition Leader Peter Dutton delivers the Coalition’s Budget Reply, sharing his alternate vision for Australia’s fiscal future, Sky News will broadcast live coverage from 7:30pm.
