Speaking to Channel 7, Graham said the MCG was a key reason the NFL chose to bring the game to Melbourne. He pointed to the jerseys seen around the city and the visitors arriving for the event.
Graham told Nick Riewoldt that he had experienced Super Bowl week as both a player and commentator. He said he was proud to be part of the Australian event and acknowledged the earlier trailblazers who helped bring the NFL to local screens.
The scale of Melbourne’s welcome is notable for Channel 7 and 7plus Sport, which are carrying the NFL live and free. The game gives Australian viewers a rare local staging of an event that usually belongs to the United States calendar.
Graham said fans were “in for a treat” as the league continues its international growth.
