The Cat in the Hat trailer launches ahead of 2026 cinema release – The new trailer for The Cat in the Hat has arrived, giving audiences a first look at the animated feature ahead of its Australian cinema release on 31 December 2026.
The film gives Dr. Seuss’ famous mischief-maker a new big-screen adventure, with Bill Hader voicing the Cat. It is Warner Bros. Pictures Animation’s first full-length feature film, making this more than a routine revisit of a familiar character.
In the film, the Cat works for the I.I.I.I. — the Institute for the Institution of Imagination and Inspiration, LLC — and is tasked with cheering up siblings Gabby and Sebastian after their move to a new town. His habit of taking things too far could put his magical hat on the line.
The voice cast also includes Xochitl Gomez, Matt Berry, Quinta Brunson and Paula Pell, with Tiago Martinez, Giancarlo Esposito, America Ferrera, Bowen Yang and Tituss Burgess featured. Alessandro Carloni and Erica Rivinoja direct.
