New on Netflix: Hoemonal, #Love and The Great Indian Kapil Show – This Netflix selection moves from Sumukhi Suresh’s stand-up special to Mumbai family comedy, a dating-app romance and two films built around very different family bonds.

For Australian subscribers browsing beyond the most-promoted English-language releases, the mix offers a useful route into Netflix’s Indian slate. Sumukhi Suresh is getting Hoemonal! is the dated new arrival on 14 October; the other five titles are presented as now showing. The announcement does not give new Australian launch dates for those existing titles.

Sumukhi Suresh is getting Hoemonal! — 14 October

Comedian Sumukhi Suresh takes on the collision of her thirties, hormones and social expectations in this stand-up special. The premise turns often private conversations about womanhood into direct, candid comedy. It premieres on Netflix on Wednesday, 14 October.

Chumbak — now showing

Chumbak follows five families living in a Mumbai neighbourhood. Their dramas, celebrations and everyday encounters gradually turn neighbours into friends and an unconventional extended family. It is the warmer ensemble option in this selection.

The Great Indian Kapil Show — season five

Kapil Sharma and his ensemble return to celebrity conversations with comic detours and unexpected moments. Season five is now showing, with new episodes arriving each Sunday. That weekly rhythm makes it the ongoing series in a selection that also includes stand-up, scripted drama and film.

#Love — now showing

Startup founder Tara and investor Matthew disagree over how people should find a partner. Their competing dating apps become a test of compatibility against chemistry, pulling their professional rivalry into a romantic experiment. Watch the official Netflix trailer below.

Irumudi — now showing

In Irumudi, a troubled father undertakes a sacred spiritual vow at his daughter’s request. The journey becomes a test of faith, redemption and their relationship. Its family-centred story provides a more reflective counterpoint to the comedy titles.

Ohh My Dog — now showing

A boy rescues a blind puppy in Ohh My Dog and develops a bond that asks both of them to meet the world with courage. The family drama focuses on loyalty and looking beyond appearances. Netflix has also released a public trailer.
