Pamela Buchanan wins The Great Australian Bake Off 2026 on Foxtel and BINGE – Pamela Buchanan has been crowned Australia’s Best Amateur Baker after the season-nine grand final of The Great Australian Bake Off. Her detailed tessellate cake was the decisive showstopper in a final against Branden Khou and Matt Perillo-Phipps.

For viewers who followed the ten-week competition, the result came down to more than presentation. Pamela had to navigate a three-part finale that tested pastry, technical precision and ambitious cake construction. The series is available on Foxtel and BINGE, allowing Australian audiences to revisit the final and the earlier rounds.

What happened in the grand final?

The three finalists first made patisserie tacos for the Signature challenge. They then faced a Mont Bleu in the Technical, before producing tessellate cakes for the Showstopper. That final brief called for a geometric finish as well as flavours and structure that would impress judges Rachel Khoo and Darren Purchese.

Pamela’s two-tier creation paired pistachio cake with rhubarb and bitter orange compote in its upper tier. Beneath it sat hazelnut cake, hazelnut praline and dark chocolate ganache. She covered the outside with 240 multicoloured chocolate bonbons, arranged to create the tessellated pattern.

The combination gave the judges an intricate visual design and two contrasting flavour profiles. Pamela emerged ahead of Branden and Matt after a season that also asked the bakers to tackle biscuits, savoury creations, Greek-inspired bakes and outdoor challenges.

Pamela Buchanan reacts to her win

Pamela described the experience as a dream fulfilled.

Being on The Great Australian Bake Off was a magical, once-in-a-lifetime experience and a dream come true.

She said the programme had allowed her to immerse herself in baking, learn under pressure and meet 11 other bakers whose different approaches to the same briefs she valued. As a self-taught baker, Pamela said recognition of her flavours and individual style from Khoo and Purchese meant a great deal.

Along with the title, Pamela takes home a Smeg baker’s kitchen. BBC Studios Australia Productions makes the Australian series for Foxtel and BINGE. The wider Bake Off franchise began with the British original in 2010; Love Productions created the format and BBC Studios distributes it internationally.
