Allen teaser reveals Australian Netflix film ahead of November premiere – Netflix has released the first teaser for Allen, an Australian film about friendship, loss and an extraordinary return. It premieres on Netflix on Thursday, 12 November 2026.
The teaser announcement places the story in a Queensland coastal town and brings together an Australian cast and creative team. For local viewers, that setting is more than background: Netflix describes the film as a hopeful tale of Aussie nostalgia, friendship and adventure.
Twenty years after Petey lost the best friend he ever had, Allen is back. Netflix has not yet explained the circumstances of Allen’s return or supplied a longer plot synopsis. The teaser and artwork invite viewers into that mystery without resolving it.

Australian cast and creative team
Daley Pearson created Allen and co-directs with Jeffrey Walker, whose television credits include Apple Cider Vinegar and The Artful Dodger. Pearson also writes the film with Sophie Miller, whose credits include Thou Shalt Not Steal. Pearson’s earlier work includes Talk to Me and The Strange Chores.
The cast includes T.J Power, Charlotte Nicdao, Josh Helman, Emily Barclay and Benedict Hardie. Netflix has not assigned character names to that cast in this announcement, so it remains unclear which performer plays Petey.
Ludo Studio is behind the production. Charlie Aspinwall and Pearson are executive producers for Ludo Studio, alongside Miller. Sam Moor produces for Ludo Studio with Ross Allsop, while Lauren Brown is co-producer for Ludo Studio.
