HBO Max unveils second teaser for Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone – HBO Max has released the official second teaser for its new original series adaptation of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, with the eight-episode season set to debut at Christmas 2026 on HBO Max.
The new look gives Australian viewers another early glimpse at one of the streamer’s biggest franchise plays, with HBO Max positioning the return to Hogwarts as a major family and event viewing title for the end-of-year holiday window.
The series follows Harry Potter after Aunt Petunia insists there is nothing special about him, only for a mysterious Hogwarts letter to arrive and open the door to a world of magic, friendship, adventure and dark secrets. As danger builds around him, Harry must find his place in the wizarding world and prove himself against the darkest wizard of all.
New Cast
Dominic McLaughlin leads the cast as Harry Potter, joined by Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger and Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley.
The wider ensemble includes John Lithgow as Albus Dumbledore, Janet McTeer as Minerva McGonagall, Paapa Essiedu as Severus Snape, Nick Frost as Rubeus Hagrid, Rory Wilmot as Neville Longbottom, Lox Pratt as Draco Malfoy, Leo Earley as Seamus Finnigan, Elijah Oshin as Dean Thomas, Tristan Harland as Fred Weasley, Gabriel Harland as George Weasley, Ruari Spooner as Percy Weasley, Alessia Leoni as Parvati Patil and Sienna Moosah as Lavender Brown.

The HBO Original series is based on J.K. Rowling’s book series and is written and executive produced by Francesca Gardiner. Mark Mylod executive produces and directs multiple episodes.
