Binge Upfront 2027: BINGE locks in long-term NBCUniversal deal – BINGE has secured a long-term extension of its NBCUniversal partnership, locking in a major pipeline of international series, movies, channels and reality content for Australian subscribers.
The deal gives Binge Upfront 2027 another strategic pillar beyond local originals and returning Australian brands. For viewers, it means BINGE and Foxtel will continue to sit at the centre of NBCUniversal’s premium entertainment output in Australia well into the next rights cycle.
The new agreement begins in 2028 and will give BINGE and Foxtel subscribers exclusive Australian access to first-run scripted programming from Sky Studios, as well as Universal Studio Group-produced drama and comedy series made for Peacock.
What The Deal Covers
BINGE says the extended partnership includes Pay-1 movies, the largest collection of seasons in the Law & Order brand in Australia, DreamWorks and Universal TV channels, a new Universal Crime channel and further reality franchises.
The release also highlights the brand-new season of The Day of the Jackal, along with NBCUniversal library titles and franchises including The Office, Downton Abbey, Friday Night Lights, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Fast and Furious, How to Train Your Dragon, Minions, Bridget Jones, Despicable Me and Jurassic Park.
New and returning reality franchises will also remain part of the offering, including Below Deck, Below Deck Mediterranean and The Real Housewives of Orange County.
Hayu Joins Foxtel Boxes
The partnership will also see Hayu integrated into Foxtel set-top boxes from 2028. Hayu is NBCUniversal’s reality streaming service and carries major franchises including The Real Housewives, Below Deck and Vanderpump Rules.
Foxtel Group Chief Executive Officer Patrick Delany described the extension as a landmark moment for Australian entertainment lovers, saying NBCUniversal has long been a cornerstone of the group’s entertainment offering.
Chris Taylor, Managing Director, Asia Pacific, TV Distribution and International Networks & Direct-to-Consumer for NBCUniversal, said the long-term deal reflected the strength of NBCUniversal’s relationship with Foxtel Group and its commitment to delivering premium film and television content to support clients’ businesses.
The agreement also extends to Foxtel subscribers. For more BINGE coverage, visit TV Central’s BINGE section. More information about watching is available at BINGE.
