East of Eden trailer reveals Florence Pugh in Netflix adaptation – Netflix has released the official trailer and new images for East of Eden, a seven-episode limited series arriving on Netflix on Wednesday, 1 October 2026.
For Australian Netflix viewers, this is one of the platform’s major October drama plays. The series gives John Steinbeck’s family saga a fresh television treatment, with Florence Pugh at the centre as Cathy Ames.
The trailer leans into the story’s questions of choice, family and morality. It also shows how the series will move across generations of the Trask family, rather than narrowing the story to one romance or one feud.
Zoe Kazan adapts the novel and serves as writer, executive producer and co-showrunner with Jeb Stuart. The limited series follows the Trasks through a changing America, while placing new focus on Cathy as one of Steinbeck’s most complicated figures.
