Binge Upfront 2027: BINGE unveils Australian originals and global hits – BINGE has unveiled an expanded 2027 and beyond slate, led by Australian originals, returning favourites, international series, live sport, news and a renewed NBCUniversal partnership.
The updated Binge Upfront 2027 announcement positions the service as more than a drama and reality destination. It places local production, global acquisitions, news, sport and movies inside the same subscriber pitch, giving BINGE a broader entertainment story heading into 2027.
Foxtel Group Executive Director, Entertainment Content, Daniel Monaghan said the group continues to invest in Australian news, drama and entertainment, while expanding live and on-demand sport and global scripted content for subscribers.
Australian titles still to come
Before the 2027 slate arrives, BINGE has several Australian titles still to come across 2026. Deadliest Dinners, hosted by Mario Kalpou, will bring a food and survival edge to the platform’s local factual offering.
High Country will also return, with Leah Purcell, Brendan Cowell and Ryan Corr leading the drama series. The prison-drama universe also continues with Wentworth: Halfway Home, starring Katrina Milosevic, Nicole da Silva, Kate Box and Rachel Griffiths.
The streamer has also confirmed Apocalypse, narrated by Jonathan LaPaglia, and the three-part Christmas special The Other Bennet Sister.
BINGE originals for 2027
Tough Love is a new Australian original comedy created by and starring Rick Donald. Miranda Otto, Liz Kingsman, Hugo Johnston-Burt and Jay Ryan also star in the series, which follows a mother trying to prepare her adult children for life without her.
The Real Housewives of Melbourne is returning, with Gina Liano confirmed for the new season and production to begin in 2027. Additional casting will be announced later.
Selling Houses Australia will return for Season 19 with Andrew Winter, Wendy Moore and Dennis Scott, continuing one of the group’s most recognisable lifestyle brands.
BINGE is also part of The Ministry of Time, the six-part adaptation of Kaliane Bradley’s bestselling novel. Produced with the BBC and A24, the series is adapted by Alice Birch and stars Aoife Hinds as Sophy and Billy Howle as Commander Graham Gore.
The story follows a government department that gathers people from history to test whether time travel can work. Sophy is assigned to help Graham Gore adjust to the modern world, setting up a relationship that becomes more complicated as the ministry’s intentions come into question.
Global drama and comedy
The international slate includes The Day of the Jackal Season 2, with Eddie Redmayne returning to the thriller, along with The Five Star Weekend Season 2 starring Jennifer Garner.
Sweetpea Season 2 brings back Ella Purnell as Rhiannon Lewis, while Ted: The Animated Series expands Seth MacFarlane’s comedy franchise in animated form.
BINGE also highlighted The Rachel Incident, Meantime with James McAvoy, Maya with Daisy Haggard, Bella Ramsey and Tobias Menzies, and Up To No Good with Glenn Close.
The slate also includes The Cadburys, starring Toby Regbo, Harry Gilby and Jessica Barden, and Superfakes, from Alice Ju. The A24 and UCP series stars Lucy Liu, who also executive produces, alongside Ken Leung, Bohan Phoenix, Michelle Jones Lee and Keith Leung.
News, sport and NBCUniversal
BINGE says subscribers will continue to have access to more live and on-demand sport, including AFL, AFLW, NRL, NRLW, cricket, surfing and golf. Live news channels on the platform include News24, BBC News, CNN and Fox Sports News.
The updated slate also confirms an expanded NBCUniversal partnership from 2028. The agreement will bring first-run scripted programming from Sky and USG-produced Peacock drama and comedy series to BINGE, as well as Universal films after their theatrical and transactional digital release windows.
