Crime Night! returns to ABC with Julia Zemiro in September – Crime Night! is returning to ABC TV and ABC iview for a second season, with Julia Zemiro back to host a new run of crime, comedy and criminology.

The series sits in a distinctive lane for ABC: part panel show, part true-crime unpacking and part public conversation about why certain crimes and social patterns capture attention. Its return gives ABC a Wednesday night format that can speak to both crime viewers and comedy audiences.

Crime Night! Season 2 premieres on Wednesday, 30 September at 9.00pm on ABC TV, with episodes also available on ABC iview.

Zemiro will again be joined by criminologists Professor Danielle Reynald and Dr David Bartlett, who bring research and real-world context to the cases and themes discussed each week.

The new season will also feature a rotating line-up of comedians and writers, including Rhys Nicholson, Zoë Coombs Marr, Claire Hooper, Dave Thornton, Jessie Stephens, Scout Boxall, Alex Lee, Ryan Shelton, Susie Youssef, Alexei Toliopoulos and Alex Ward.

Across six episodes, the series will explore topics including false confessions, romance scams, citizen sleuths, cults and criminal profiling.

Lou Wall also returns with analysis, adding another layer to the program’s mix of observation, explanation and humour.

Crime Night! was commissioned by ABC and is produced by Dreamchaser and Maverick Entertainment in association with ABC. Maverick Entertainment’s executive producers are David Forster, Frank Bruzzese and Julia Zemiro, with Billy Russell executive producing for Dreamchaser.
