Apple TV celebrates Australian thriller Last Seen at Sydney screening – Apple TV has celebrated its Australian thriller series Last Seen with a special screening event in Sydney ahead of the show’s global debut.
Stars Patrick Brammall, Brendan Cowell and Chloe Jean Lourdes attended the Wednesday, 2 September event, alongside executive producers Hakan Kousetta, Kris Mrksa and Joanna Werner.
For Australian viewers, the screening is another reminder that Last Seen is not just an Apple TV thriller with a local lead. The six-part drama is entirely set and filmed in Victoria, giving the series a clear Australian identity before it rolls out globally on the streamer.
A Sydney Launch For A Victorian Thriller
Last Seen stars Brammall as Ian Ridley, a police detective whose life was shattered 11 years earlier when his young daughter, Maggie, disappeared without a trace.
Now working as a police dispatcher, Ian receives a distress call from a teenage girl he believes is Maggie. The call sends him back into the mystery that has defined his life, pushing him to find the truth and reunite his broken family, whatever the cost.
The series is adapted from Ryan David Jahn’s CWA John Creasey Dagger Award-winning book The Dispatcher. Writer and executive producer Kris Mrksa adapted the drama for television, with Emmy Award-nominated filmmaker Christian Schwochow directing and executive producing.

The cast includes Brammall, Maxine Peake, Cowell, Daniel Henshall, Zahra Newman, Jessica Wren, Tobias Muhafidin and newcomer Chloe Jean Lourdes.
Last Seen is produced by 60Forty Films. Executive producers include Jamie Laurenson and Hakan Kousetta at 60Forty Films, alongside Schwochow, Mrksa and Joanna Werner.
The Sydney screening brought together the Australian-facing side of the production, with cast and producers attending ahead of the series premiere.
When Last Seen Premieres
Last Seen premieres globally on Apple TV on Wednesday, 9 September 2026 with two episodes. New episodes will then stream weekly each Wednesday until 7 October.
The series joins Apple’s growing slate of locally connected global originals, while giving Australian audiences a thriller built around familiar screen talent and Victorian locations.
