Class Clowns premieres on ABC TV and ABC iview – Class Clowns ABC brings school-day chaos to prime time, with Julia Morris in charge as some of Australia’s best-known comedians compete for house points and the Class Clowns Cup.
The new comedy series premieres Wednesday 30 September at 8.30pm on ABC TV. All episodes will also be available to stream on ABC iview.
The format gives ABC a clear entertainment hook for viewers who enjoy panel shows, classroom nostalgia and physical comedy. It also brings together a cast with strong followings across stand-up, television, radio and podcasting.
Class Clowns cast
Under the watchful eye of Principal Julia Morris, comedians Bron Lewis, Luke McGregor, Becky Lucas, Matt Okine, Nina Oyama and Dave Hughes head back to school.
The comedians are split into three houses: Redbacks, Cane Toads and Bin Chickens. Each house will battle for points across the season.
The assignments cover Biology, Drama, Mathematics, Geography, Gymnastics, Physics and more. Every class offers a new chance to win praise, gain points and avoid the principal’s disapproval.
ABC says the series is packed with outrageous challenges, fierce competition and plenty of laughs. The result is a comedy contest built around how far professional performers will go for bragging rights and a trophy.
