Apple TV Australia 16–22 October 2026: Tenzing and Slow Horses – Apple Original Films’ Tenzing leads the week on Apple TV Australia, premiering today, Friday, 16 October. The drama from Australian director Jennifer Peedom stars Genden Phuntsok, Tom Hiddleston, Willem Dafoe, Caitríona Balfe, Thinley Lhamo and Tenzin Dalha.
New episodes of Knife Edge: Chasing Michelin Stars and Dark Matter also arrive today. Meanwhile, Slow Horses, Brothers and Small Prophets have new episodes streaming now, with the next ones on Wednesday, 21 October. Where’s Wanda? season two also premieres that day.
TV Central previously shared the Tenzing trailer starring Genden Phuntsok and Tom Hiddleston. Last week’s Apple TV line-up brought Matchbox The Movie and the Last Seen and Ted Lasso finales.
Tenzing premieres on Apple TV
Based on true events, Tenzing tells the little-known story of Tenzing Norgay (Genden Phuntsok). The gifted Himalayan climber became the first to summit Mount Everest, alongside New Zealand mountaineer Edmund Hillary (Tom Hiddleston).
Encouraged by his wife Dawa (Thinley Lhamo), Tenzing finds an ally in expedition secretary Jill Henderson (Caitríona Balfe). Together, they persuade Colonel John Hunt (Willem Dafoe) that Tenzing belongs on the British climbing team, rather than merely serving it.
Western climbers see Everest as something to be conquered. However, Tenzing reveres Chomolungma as the sacred mother goddess. The ascent is defined as much by tensions between backgrounds, classes and ambitions as by the perils of the mountain itself.
High above the world, empire, rank and aspiration fall away. That leaves two outsiders bound by mutual respect and trust. For Tenzing, it is also the fulfilment of a lifelong dream and a spiritual calling.
Slow Horses season six continues
In Slow Horses, Gary Oldman stars as Jackson Lamb, the cantankerous leader of the MI5 misfits at Slough House. The six-episode sixth season follows the Slow Horses on the run, as Diana Taverner embroils them in a fatally high-stakes game of retaliation and revenge.
In this week’s episode, “Sayonara”, River goes after Sid, Lamb sets his sights on Cantor and Taverner carries on with a treacherous deal. The fifth episode is now streaming, and the sixth and final episode of the season arrives on Wednesday, 21 October.
