Australia v South Africa Tests: Fox Cricket and Kayo Sports coverage times – Australia begins a three-Test tour of South Africa on Friday, 9 October. Fox Cricket will carry every ball live, with Kayo Sports streaming the series. The broadcaster’s schedule sets out a different coverage start on some days, so viewers should check the daily time rather than assume every session begins at the same hour.
For viewers in Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra and Hobart, the release’s AEST times are one hour earlier than the local AEDT clock that applies during October. The first day’s 5.30pm AEST coverage start is therefore 6.30pm AEDT in those cities. TV Central has kept the supplied AEST schedule below and added the AEDT equivalent so the timing is usable across eastern Australia.
The Tests take place in Durban, Gqeberha and Cape Town. Fox Sports lists Kingsmead, St George’s Park and Newlands as the venues. Mark Howard will report from South Africa, while Brendon Julian, Kerry O’Keeffe, Mark Waugh, David Warner and Alyssa Healy will provide studio analysis before play and during lunch breaks.

The broadcaster says its coverage will take fans to every ball and session of the series. Howard’s presence at the grounds is designed to bring the atmosphere and developments in South Africa into the telecast, while the studio team provides context around each day’s play.
Fox Cricket executive producer Jamie Lockyer says the aim is to capture “all the action, the drama and the stories that make Test cricket compelling”. He points to the on-ground reporting, expert commentary and access to the Australian team as parts of the coverage.
Marnus Labuschagne: Tour Diaries goes behind the boundary
Alongside the live Tests, Fox Sports Digital and Kayo Sports have partnered with Australian batter Marnus Labuschagne for a five-part video series, Marnus Labuschagne: Tour Diaries. It follows the less visible parts of an away tour: packing, travel, training, recovery, match preparation and the routines around each Test.
Episode one, “Pack & Fly”, is available publicly on YouTube. Labuschagne shows the kit and personal items he takes away, then heads to the airport, meets team-mates before departure and arrives in South Africa. The opening instalment gives viewers a starting point before the first Test begins.
Episode two, “Preparation & Tour Match”, moves into the first training sessions, nets, recovery and the build-up to a tour match. It also captures conversations on the team bus, match-day rituals and how players wind down after play. Episodes three to five follow Labuschagne through the Tests themselves, including his hotel setup, daily reflections, recovery and the move to the next venue.
That structure gives the Test series a second narrative beyond the scorecard. Viewers can follow Labuschagne’s personal experience of touring while Howard and the Fox Cricket team cover events on the field. The first episode is available now; the release does not set dates for the remaining instalments.
