Hindi and Mandarin AFL commentary comes to Fox Footy on Kayo Sports – Fox Footy, on Kayo Sports, will deliver alternate Hindi and Mandarin commentary and graphics on two upcoming AFL matches, making the game more accessible for more fans.
Hindi-speaking fans can enjoy Thursday’s crucial clash between the Western Bulldogs and GWS Giants via an alternate feed. The voices of Rajbir Ghuman and Harbir Singh Kang will bring the match to life, with key on-screen graphics also adjusted to Hindi language.
In Round 22, an alternate feed will be produced for Mandarin-speaking audiences of the Brisbane Lions and Sydney Swans’ (Saturday, August 9) Grand Final rematch, with Agnes Yao Lu and Barney Yu Xia calling the action.
All four commentators bring extensive commentary experience, having previously called matches on the National Ethnic & Multicultural Broadcasters Council radio channels. Each has become a devout AFL fan since moving to Australia and is passionate about connecting their community with the game.
The initiative is aligned to Kayo Sports’ mission to bring more audiences closer to the sports they love in new and innovative ways, and builds on other alternate language feeds produced in previous seasons.
Both matches form part of the AFL’s Cultural Heritage Series, which celebrates the heritage of every fan, player, coach and administrator within the game. A further two AFLW matches this season will also be broadcast via alternate language feeds, with fixtures to be confirmed.
The dedicated feeds will be available to all Kayo Sports subscribers as part of their existing subscription. The feeds will also be available on Foxtel channel 507 (Hindi feed, July 31) and 505 (Mandarin feed, August 9).
