7plus delivers record September streaming audience – 7plus has reported its strongest monthly audience since March and its biggest share of 2026, with live sport and entertainment helping drive a 50.2 per cent commercial BVOD share across September.
The service’s total audience rose nine per cent on August and 19 per cent on September 2025. It claimed a 51.1 per cent share of live BVOD viewing and 48.1 per cent of VOD viewing. For TV Central readers, the figures underline the value of live, free-to-stream events to Channel 7’s broader digital strategy, particularly when a major sporting moment can bring viewers into entertainment and news programming on the same platform.
AFL drives the biggest day
The Brisbane Lions v Fremantle AFL Grand Final delivered an average streaming audience of 1.42 million on 7plus, up 44 per cent year-on-year. Seven said more than three million Australians used the service on Grand Final day, generating more than 533 million streamed minutes.
Across the Finals series, 7plus averaged 209,000 viewers, up 62 per cent on the previous season. The Charles Brownlow Medal reached 435,000 viewers, up 37 per cent, while the NFL Melbourne Game attracted more than 155,000 viewers — a new 7plus record for an NFL match.
Entertainment audience also grows
The Voice Grand Finale drew 230,000 viewers on 7plus, up 77 per cent on 2025, with the full season up 48 per cent. Seven also reported year-on-year gains for Home and Away, The Chase Australia, 7NEWS, The Front Bar, Sunrise and The Morning Show.
Seven West Media Chief Digital Officer Andrew Green credited the service’s mix of major live moments and daily programming. The next event-heavy period includes the Bathurst 1000 and Rugby League World Cup.
