ABC named Australia’s most trusted media brand for eighth consecutive year – The ABC has been recognised as Australia’s most trusted media brand for the eighth consecutive year, receiving the 2026 Roy Morgan Most Trusted Brand Award in the media category.
The result is a strong public-interest marker for Australian viewers, particularly in a media environment where trust, emergency broadcasting and independent news remain central to how audiences judge national broadcasters. TV Central readers can follow more ABC coverage in our ABC section.
The ABC has led the media category every year since the Roy Morgan Trusted Brand Awards began.
ABC Managing Director Hugh Marks said trust must sit at the centre of the ABC’s relationship with Australians, and said the broadcaster remained committed to accuracy, integrity and purpose.
Roy Morgan is Australia’s largest independent research company. Its annual Trusted Brand Awards recognise brands that achieve market-leading levels of trust across a range of categories.
The ABC also pointed to its Corporate Tracking Survey, which found trust in the ABC increased in 2025-26. According to the broadcaster, 79 per cent of Australians said they trust the information provided by the ABC.
The same survey found 81 per cent of Australians said the ABC and its services were very or quite valuable to the community.
The ABC said the survey also showed stronger perceptions of the broadcaster as distinctively Australian, and as a provider of trusted news, reliable emergency broadcasting, valuable local information and well-balanced programming.
