Tonight | Off the Grid with Colin and Manu on Channel 7: lamb tail at Boars Nest and a wild boar hunt – Off the Grid with Colin and Manu puts lamb tail on the menu tonight, then sends the pair into the bush. The episode airs at 9.10pm on Channel 7 and 7plus.
In season two, Colin Fassnidge and Manu Feildel travel the length of Aotearoa in a small caravan. The series is a no-rules food adventure. It mixes roadside cook-ups and local feasts with plenty of time outdoors.
For the MKR judges, it is a long way from the competition kitchen. Instead of scoring other people’s dishes, they chase ingredients and cook with whoever they meet.
Lamb tail at Boars Nest
First, the boys head to Boars Nest to cook with the locals. Lamb tail is the ingredient of the day. The stop is all about cooking alongside the people who live there.
That kind of shared meal is the heart of the series. Each stop is about connection as well as food, from swapping stories to learning local traditions.
Hunting wild boar in the bush
Next, Colin and Manu make their way into the bush to try their luck hunting wild boar. Hunting wild game is part of the season’s mix. So are diving for crayfish and big roadside feasts.
Whether the hunt pays off is left for tonight’s episode. Either way, it is another chance for the chefs to test themselves well outside a restaurant kitchen.
Last week, the pair swam with dolphins in Akaroa and shared a smash burger feast in Christchurch. Tonight swaps the city for a rougher stretch of country.
Don’t miss Off the Grid with Colin and Manu, Tuesday 27 October at 9.10pm on Channel 7 and streaming on 7plus.
