Seven Media Group appoints Nick Bower to unite sport sales across TV, audio and streaming – Seven Media Group will bring its television and audio sport sales operations under one leader. It has appointed Nick Bower to the newly created role of Commercial Director, Sport – TV, Audio & Streaming.

Bower will return to Seven in early 2027 after more than 20 years in sports media and advertising. He will lead sport sales teams in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Adelaide. Bower will report to Seven Media Group Chief Revenue Officer Natalie Harvey.

The wider group now brings together Channel 7, 7plus, Triple M, LiSTNR and major publishing brands. That scale makes the appointment significant for advertisers. Seven plans to build partnerships around the different ways fans watch, listen, read and scroll.

A single commercial strategy for Seven sport

Seven said Bower would be responsible for maximising revenue across its sport portfolio, improving cross-screen and cross-audio integration and developing new partnership models for advertisers.

The group already shares sporting talent and promotion across its platforms. The new structure extends that approach to the commercial operation. Brands will gain a more unified route into live events, surrounding discussion and audience data.

Harvey said the combined business could place advertisers closer to the sporting moments and fan conversations that matter.

No one in Australia can put a brand inside sport the way we can. We’ve got the big live moments, the conversation on either side of them, and the data that tells us who’s actually in the room. Nick’s the right person to bring that together and make it simple for brands to get close to the culture fans care about.

Nick Bower returns to Seven

Bower most recently served as General Manager, Ad Sales and Sport Sales Director at Paramount Australia and New Zealand. Earlier, he was Senior Vice President, Partnerships at Football Marketing Asia. He also led advertising sales and partnerships across the Asia-Pacific and Middle East for FOX Sports.

He also held a senior consultancy position with True Digital Group. Across those roles, Bower commercialised major sporting properties. They included the AFL, Olympic Games, Australian Open and Formula 1.

The appointment also marks a return to familiar territory. Bower previously spent 10 years at Seven in sport sales, sponsorship and senior commercial management.

Bower said the group’s sports rights and its broader range of platforms created opportunities to connect brands with audiences in more ways.

Sport has an extraordinary ability to bring people together and connect brands with moments that matter. What excites me about joining Seven Media Group right now is not only their phenomenal sports rights line up, but also the opportunity to work alongside the talented team, who deliver unrivalled sports content—something I know first-hand, having spent 10 years of my career at Seven. So returning to the network is particularly special. Now the opportunity to connect audiences and brands across sport, television, streaming and audio—including Triple M, which I’m a fan of as a listener—opens up the most exciting possibilities to create innovative partnerships, deliver greater value for clients and drive commercial growth for Seven Media Group and its partners.

Commercial and production teams to work together

Bower will work closely with Chris Jones, Seven Media Group’s Director of Sport – TV, Audio and Streaming. Their brief is to align the commercial strategy with the way Seven produces and broadcasts sport across its platforms.

He will also work with the group’s legal and executive teams on sports rights. That work will cover relationships with sporting codes and partners. The new role therefore extends beyond campaign sales into the structure of Seven’s wider sports business.

Harvey said Bower’s leadership and his partnership with Jones would be central to the strategy.

He’s also a genuine leader. He backs his people, sets a high bar and has a team around him that’s hungry to show the market what this business can do. Working hand in hand with Chris Jones and his incredible production team, who bring our sport to life for millions of Australians every week, there’s no limit to what we can create for our partners. He’s got big ambitions for this, and so do I.

Seven’s enlarged media footprint

Southern Cross Media Group trades as Seven Media Group. The business spans broadcast television, streaming, audio, publishing and digital. Its portfolio includes the Seven Network, 7plus and 7NEWS. It also includes the Hit and Triple M radio networks, LiSTNR, The West Australian, The Sunday Times, PerthNow and The Nightly.

The company says that combined portfolio reaches 20.4 million Australians each month. It also has 17 million registered digital users across its services.

For viewers and listeners, the change will largely happen behind the scenes. Its clearest public effect is likely to be more campaigns and sponsor integrations that run across Channel 7 broadcasts, 7plus streams, radio coverage, podcasts and digital publishing rather than being confined to one platform.

Bower will begin the new role in early 2027.
