However, Curry was never limited by one role. He moved from musicals to horror, comedy, family films, animation and stage work with ease.
From Pennywise To Clue
For many television viewers, Curry’s most chilling role was Pennywise in the 1990 adaptation of Stephen King’s It.
Long before the later feature films, Curry gave the character a mix of humour, menace and theatrical terror. As a result, his version stayed with a generation of viewers.
His film work also included Clue, Legend, Annie, Home Alone 2: Lost in New York, The Three Musketeers, Muppet Treasure Island and Scary Movie 2.
In addition, Curry built a major voice career. He won a Daytime Emmy for Peter Pan and the Pirates and became widely known as the voice of Nigel Thornberry in The Wild Thornberrys.
