10 Brings Shaun Micallef’s Parents’ Evening To Australian Screens — Australian comedy icon Shaun Micallef is returning to 10 with a brand-new comedy game show, Shaun Micallef’s Parents’ Evening, based on the hit UK format created by Ranga Bee for ITV.
Adding an extra family twist, Micallef will be joined by his son, Gabe Micallef, as co-host for a series that puts family knowledge – or lack of it – to the ultimate test.
Family Knowledge Takes Centre Stage
Each episode sees three well-known Australians team up with either their parent or their adult child in a cross-generational game where success isn’t determined by what contestants know, but by what their family thinks they know.
A series of topics is presented, with parents challenged to predict how many correct answers their grown-up children will give.
Get it right and they’ll edge closer to victory. Get it wrong and they’ll have plenty to discuss on the drive home.
With family pride, bragging rights and money for charity all on the line, the series promises plenty of laughs, surprises and awkward moments.
Shaun And Gabe Team Up
Shaun Micallef said he was excited to return to 10 with a format that explores family relationships through comedy.
“I’m very much looking forward to working with 10 on a show that will either bridge the intergenerational divide and bring families closer together or blow up that bridge and drive us all further apart,” he said.
“I’m also looking forward to working with my son Gabe, who moved out recently and I don’t get to see that much.”
Gabe Micallef said working alongside his father would be an experience unlike any other.
“What an exciting opportunity it is to work with my father! I look forward to discovering whether the Australian public finds our relationship charming or deeply strange. Either way, I’m grateful to 10 for giving us the chance to conduct this important father-son experiment on national television.”

Blending comedy, family rivalry and celebrity competition, the new series is set to bring a fresh twist to the game show genre when it arrives on 10.
