Stan unveils new medical drama The F Ward ahead of July premiere – Stan has announced that its latest Original drama series, The F Ward, will premiere on 17 July, with all six episodes dropping at once on the streaming platform.
Created by the team behind Stan Original Bump, the six-part series follows a group of medical interns sent to Sydney’s underfunded Pines Hospital for one final chance to complete their training.
Faced with high-pressure situations where the stakes are literally life and death, the interns must confront their insecurities, past mistakes and personal expectations as they fight to prove they belong in the medical profession.


Star-studded cast leads the drama
The F Ward stars International Emmy Award winner Anna Friel (Pushing Daisies, Marcella), alongside Ioane Sa’ula (Bump), Lola Bond (Last Days of the Space Age), Dan Wyllie (Love My Way), Alex Fitzalan (Prosper), Emily Barclay (Babyteeth), Annie Boyle (Colin from Accounts) and Rishab Kern.
The ensemble cast also includes Arka Das (Sunny Nights), Paula Arundell (The Last Anniversary), Jeremy Sims (The Artful Dodger), Susie Porter (The Artful Dodger), Toby Schmitz (Boy Swallows Universe) and Alex Dimitriades (Strife).
From the makers of Bump
The series has been co-created by Dan Edwards and Kelsey Munro, both of whom previously worked on Stan Original Bump. John Edwards serves as executive producer, while Natalie Bailey and Neil Sharma direct the six-part drama.
The F Ward is a co-production between Roadshow Rough Diamond and CBS Studios, with major production investment from Screen Australia and support from Screen NSW’s Made in NSW – TV Drama Fund. Paramount Global Content Distribution will handle international sales outside Australia.
The Stan Original The F Ward premieres 17 July, with all episodes streaming exclusively on Stan. production.
