Crime Night! returns to ABC for a second season – ABC has commissioned a second season of Crime Night!, with Julia Zemiro set to return alongside resident criminologists Professor Danielle Reynald and Dr David Bartlett.
Blending expert insight with humour, the series explores the cases, criminal behaviour and true crime stories that continue to capture the public imagination. The new season will once again bring together a panel of comedians and commentators to unpack the stories dominating headlines and group chats across the country.
Diving deeper into our fascination with crime
Season two promises to delve further into the psychology behind crime and society’s enduring obsession with it. Topics set to be explored include the rise of DIY internet sleuths, the art of criminal profiling and the shocking reality of false confessions.
Rather than focusing solely on what happens in criminal cases, Crime Night! aims to examine why these stories resonate so strongly with audiences.
“Season 2 will delve deeper into the stories making headlines and dominating group chats – from DIY internet sleuths and the art of criminal profiling, to the shocking truth behind false confessions – exploring not only what happens in crimes, but why we’re all so fascinated with them.”
The ABC has also opened applications for audience members interested in attending studio recordings, which will take place at ABC Southbank in Melbourne during July.
Crime Night! season two will air on ABC later in 2026. In the meantime, viewers can catch up on season one now on ABC iview
