Dying for Sex comes to SBS On Demand in November — Michelle Williams and Jenny Slate’s eight-part drama joins SBS On Demand on Thursday 26 November 2026, according to SBS’s November programme guide.
For Australian viewers, the change is the service where the series can be found. Dying for Sex first premiered locally on Disney+ in April 2025, when TV Central covered its release. Its SBS On Demand arrival offers another way to discover the story; check the SBS listing when the date arrives for its current availability.
The FX series follows Molly Kochan, played by Williams, after a diagnosis of Stage IV metastatic breast cancer. Molly leaves her husband and begins exploring her desires. Her best friend Nikki, played by Slate, supports her through the experience.
A story shaped by friendship
Dying for Sex takes inspiration from Kochan’s true story, which was shared in a Wondery podcast created with Nikki Boyer. The television version brings that friendship to the centre. Alongside its sexual subject matter, it deals directly with serious illness and the prospect of death.
FX lists eight episodes. The cast also includes Jay Duplass as Molly’s husband Steve, with Rob Delaney, Kelvin Yu, David Rasche, Esco Jouléy and Sissy Spacek in the ensemble.
Kim Rosenstock and Elizabeth Meriwether wrote and co-created the series. They are among its executive producers, alongside Williams and Boyer. 20th Television produced it.
When can Australians watch?
SBS lists Dying for Sex for Thursday 26 November on SBS On Demand. The broadcaster’s current guide gives an On Demand date, rather than a separate SBS television broadcast time. It is worth using that distinction when planning to watch.
The series carries mature themes, including cancer, sexuality and end-of-life experiences. Those elements are integral to Molly and Nikki’s story, rather than incidental details of the premise.
